Bottled Water video and Cool School Challenge

I saw this video on the news tonight. I plan on using it in the water unit. It talks about how most commercial bottled water is just tap water and is actually less regulated than most municipal tap water systems. I have been looking for a short little clip on this topic - my 5 minutes of tv viewing paid off today!

Also, last year my GL kids started a school-wide audit of carbon emissions at the end of the semester. We used materials from PSE's Cool School Challenge. They seem to have enhanced their materials over the summer - I would encourage us all to take a look.

Meat and Climate Change

It has a slight vegan bias, but contains some powerful information that might be useful during the climate change unit. The fact that meat production accounts for 21% of greenhouse gas emissions is astounding and is a piece of information often left out of the media's coverage of global warming.
